National Quality Congress 

Since 1992 KalDer has organized the annual National Quality Congress at which quality professionals meet and all participating private/public institutions and organizations as well as non-profit organizations share their practices and experiences. The main topic of each congress is chosen among the subjects which are of great importance and which form the country’s economical, social and political agenda. In parallel to the original sessions that are arranged in the framework of the main topic, there are technical and specific sessions at which Turkish and foreign experts discuss the latest developments, trends and applied examples.

At technical sessions, while firms who were successful in putting TQM into practice share their experiences with the participants, scholars have the chance to share their studies about the subject. In order to increase the participants’ consciousness of the latest developments and experiences related to TQM, internationally recognized experts are invited to the congress. Usually businessmen, professional managers, academicians, bureaucrats, politicians, students, members of non-profit organizations and members of the press attend this Congress.

In the framework of the congress activities, besides visits to the organizations that were given the TUSİAD-KalDer National Quality Award, several workshops and cultural activities are organized on current subjects. KalDer makes the announcement of the National Quality Congress in November.

The Quality and Management Systems Fair has been organized since 1996 besides the National Quality Congress with the aim of bringing together organizations that demand products and services in the field of quality and the ones that offer these products and services. The participant organizations not only have the opportunity to display their products and services but also find a chance to establish new job relations. Among the organizations that can take part in the fair are the firms offering products and services such as quality management, management of human resources, ISO 9000 consultancy and training, quality control, management of documentation and software for product control, barcodes and labeling, calibration, certification, CE trademarking, environment control and measurement, production control and equipment for data gathering. Besides the organizations offering the above-mentioned products and services, the municipalities with their environmental service units and projects as well as firms that have managed to implement TQM systems are welcome to the fair.

Apart from the representatives of the public and private sectors that are concerned with Total Quality and the participants of the National Quality Congress which attracts great attention of the press, a lot of people who are interested in the subject visit the Quality and Management Systems Fair.

TQM Article Contest

The TQM article contest has almost become traditional as a part of the congress activities. The topics of it are selected from among the priority subjects in Turkey’s agenda and the successful contestants are given awards.
